Default 99-06 Silverado/Sierra hidden antenna mod

Buddy showed me a cool way to hide the antenna on my tahoe and crew cab. Not sure if someone already made a thread on this but here it is:

Time to complete was about 10mins

First I popped off the 3 clips holding that black plastic triangle with the little flap on it.

after removing you will see the 3 bolts (9mm if I recall) holding the antenna up and as you can see I already removed it.Name: photo3-2-1.jpg

You can play with the wire until you find a good spot to lay it so that the hood bracket does touch it. I also wrapped electric tape around that piece to keep it from making a metal to metal vibration while driving.

then you can tuck the rest of the antenna under the rubber flap that goes along the edge of the inside of the hood.Name: photo2-1-1.jpg

then i just zip tied the end of it to a hole that i found there by the rubber piece.

this is what it looks like finished and you can fill the hole with whatever you want or just leave it like that. Ive haven't noticed a difference in sound quality or static with my radio. Hope this helps.

There is a cover that you can get off an Escalade that doesn't have the hole for the antenna.

I did this about about 2 years ago, if u want to clean it up you can make a bracket for it instead of using zipties.

I had mine done really easy. Someone bent it, I snapped it off and it still seems to work fine! haha. Cool to see it done the proper way though.
