300hp for triple digits? try 175hp...

hell, my mod vp 380 laser v bottom would run 93 with a finger ported and modded 150 xr6 merc on it 10 years ago...

this boat with modern power will run fast enough, and do it quick enough, that you will never be able to find out how fast it is. it will have a 300 drag merc (325prop horsepower stock) or a 300x (heavy motor) the drag is like a 346 LS1, light, revs hard and durable, the 300x is like a 6.0, bigger c.i. but same power output, doesn't rev near as high but very very strong. The drag will handle juice better and there are more parts available for it.

Mike Dixon has gone in the high 150s in an STV, which is a modified form of this LTV... this boat is capable of 130+ but finding someone with the nuts to find out is the hard part.

Stop it, once you make 100 whats another 30 mph lol.. No doubt STVs are light as hell, I don't think that boat is as light as a modern laid up STV hull.. Thats why I said no prob on makeing the 100 mark lol.. The guy that is doing my new seat upholstrey for the red chris craft, actualyl holds a few records, has 2 stvs, another one not sure of the name.. I will get what classes he raced in.. His name is Pat.. I have been 121 in his boat, it is a complete blast.. You going to keep that thing white?? Or go with a new paint scheme??

stv's aren't all that light really, no lighter than this boat, it is the hull design that gets it done. a super light STV is ~500#, this hull bare is ~475

it's actually blue now, but I will either go back with a repaint of the same color if I can get it made. or might do something different. I have some pics of the MOD VP models dad raced that have some pretty cool paint jobs.
