Question Cutting stock coils

If I can't land a set of 4" LCAs I messaged someone about on ebay, I'll be looking into getting a pair of stock front coils cut to lower the front end 4 inches.

Anybody have the capability to do this properly? Anybody have any shops in mind that might be able to around the DFW area?

Thanks... only thing left to figure out for my drop

I have my MOOG front coils cut 1" and it rides ok..wish I would have left them alone..I went with DJM 3" LCA and McG 2" spindles and wanted it a bit lower..Make sure you use a cut off wheel and NOT a torch. You never want to heat a coil up..And cut from the top of the coil..I have a set of DJM 5" lca that I will sell for $150 so you can keep your stock coils and save from paying someone

I don't know If I could do a 5/7 drop
It may be a possibility though

I have read about using a cutoff wheel and cutting from the top etc. so you're a good verification on what I have read.

Garrett (gs7793) ran 4.5/7ish with cut coils in the front and he said the ride was just fine, but we agree a good set of lca would be optimal.

It's kinda all up in the air

that is a darn good price on those especially if ball joints are good. if you think it is too much of a drop, just put some coil spring spacers as the price will be hard to beat. --- plus i see too many guys, including myself, who dont do it right by cutting or heating coils only to later come back looking for stock coils and do it right. --- just my 2 cents.

Yea Garrett was recommending getting lcas if at all possible, but Im curious what I need to do to bring the 5" lca up to a 4" front.

I dont think I could drive around as low as you at 5/7 ish

haha well if it were up to me Id be bagged and sitting on the body
Money however does not permit, nor do the roads around here for me to do below 4/6.

Im looking into it and the 5" LCA need UCA to go with them and thats more $$$ right there...

I'm confused..You are asking about cutting your coil with a 4" lca..That would make it a 5" drop ...then saying you are concerned 5" will be too low??

You can also flip your uca with 5" lca's

EDIT: re-read your post..what do you have now?
