his truck is stock height right now, he wants to cut his coils to get a 4" drop.

Derrick, you know how low my truck is and i drive through Plano everyday. and Rebeiro is right, you can flip the UCAs to get everything to align right, thats what i did.

Oh..ok..Well definately do NOT cut more than a 2" drop out of your coils..You could run a 1/2" thick poly spring spacer with the 5" lca's/flipped uca's and be good to go..either way I will post them up in the for sale section soon..IMO 4" on the 99-06 trucks is not enough for the slammed look

He isn't goin for the slammed look, he's going for the lowered look. My truck rode just fine with cut coils and a flip kit/notch and shocks all around. Rode just as good as my 3/4 belltech kit does now

Everyone talks crap about cut coils because of what they've heard, not what they've experienced.

He mentioned If money was not a concern than he would bag it...made me think he liked the look of a slammed truck..

In 16 years I have lowered truck's every which way you can think of (right and wrong)...including heating the coils in place with a torch and collapsing them, as well as cutting them.GM spends ALOT of money engineering a variable rate coil for a truck. When you cut too much you change the variable rate of the spring which affects alot more than just "how it rides". From my experience I never cut more than one full turn out of the coil +/-. The best ride/alignment/camber/handling is always going to come from a factory un-cut spring with engineered counterparts. Not saying it wont "ride good" I just would not recomend someone do it for a 4" drop, as there is more to it than how it rides

i didnt notice anything changing with the way it rode/handled....i took some pretty stupid corners racing while i had it too and it never really felt unstable....but i know what you mean. if he gets tight on money though cutting the coils down to a 4" drop will be fine till he can afford a set of lca's since he has an extra set of coils he got today

I only mention bags because I could come up off the ground as needed where a static drop that low I just couldn't do.

With the knowledge of being able to flip the uca it doesn't seem to bad of an option for that cheap of an arm. Its still a possibility I guess if I can't find anywhere/ anyone who can cut the coil correctly.

Any ideas on where to get this done though? Don't want to take it to a crummy place where they wont listen and just end up torching it...

Thanks Carey that'd be great if you could, just let me know what I'll owe ya and when I can get over to your place

Dont have to worry about installation though, Garrett owes me help installing everything cuz I found him those gmc 20s with tires for 600 bucks
I bought a pair of stock coils from
Moze so I wouldn't have to take mine off the truck to do it to simplify things.
