late 80s model 240sx (looking for reputable performance shop)
One of my friends just got a 80s model 240sx that he is going to fix up. I know what he should do to his project in general but i don't know much about these cars. All I know he wants to do a SR20 or RB motor swap and basically make it a drift car.
Just wanted to know if anybody knew a reputable shops in TX that could lead him in the right direction.
Thanks,
Eric

he needs to get a SR20DET swap in ASAP.
i dont know of any shop in texas but i did research them awhile back when i considered getting one but changed my mind.
SR20DET swap should be at the top of his list, rb swap is possible but a bit more complicated and i personally would go that route because the stock trans wont line up and the skyline trans wont bolt up either as it is an AWD/4wd trans. and the fact that if i got ahold of a RB26DETT twin turbo skyline motor, id want the whole thing, awd, 6speed and all to swap in and that is a huge task. besides the sr20det is MUCH cheaper to buy up front and much easier to mod versus the RB26DETT.
btw, a black top is better than a red top on SR20s. not sure what is different but they have more power.

Check out BoostLogic in Austin,TX.
I haven't seen their shop, but I've seen one of the guy's car who works there. He has the second best sleeper car I've ever seen.
Here he is with his compound turbo setup:
