was browsing for drill press's this past weekend and just happen to use the word mill instead since they are just so dam cool and can do everything a drill press can and then 100 times more things.

i also picked up a small 12" lathe about a month ago for lil bs stuff for 100 bucks. but here is my new bread n butter, came with about 20 collets , a drill chuck and some other odds n ends.

need to get a rotary phase converter ( i have a few im watching for a couple hundred on ebay ) since they give you full output but costs a bit more than a static phase converter . only has a 1/2 hp motor and the power feed is 3 phase 1/4 hp . i may upgrade to a j-head eventually but this will do everything i need it too for now .

here she is in the garage, bitch weighs 2000+ lbs and my 08 dmax took it like a champ , air'd up the bags and we were on our way . my friend across the street has a forklift so getting it out didnt kill me . just need to start buying all the tooling which is so dam expensive. going to start with cheap stuff so i can learn on how to run it . anyone have any milling tools they want to sell pm me.

oh yeah got the thing for 500 bucks

You need to build a shop in your back yard dude. Your garage is not gonna be able to keep up with your growing hobbies!!
Nice find!

That's a killer deal. A mill is about as useful as a tool can get. You can do so much with them.

Nice! I have a buddy that was driving by a shop in Pomona and saw one outside. He ended up getting it for free. The guy who owned the shop told him if he could get it home then it was his. He's been using it almost constantly for the last few months. Awesome tool to have access to, let alone your own.

looks good man. the power feed is 3 phase? ive never seen one that was anything other then regular old 110v. and you got it right. does everything a drill press does and much much more! in all reality if all you ever needed was a drill press they are the best one of those too haha much nicer then any drill press ive used (except big holes in the radial arm which is just a nasty machine) let me know what you want/need for tooling and i could set you up with a care package
