He said trailer is just 5k plus the weight of the car.

It's gonna be a white knuckle drive in a RCSB with that much weight..

I tow 7500lbs all day with mine, big rims, small turbo, pulls great, i have a 24ft v nose. i have a 3.73 gear and im going to a 4.10 i think, just want a little more gear. the yukon pulls it great, very stable, i wouldnt pull anything with a reg cab truck, the wheel base is too small

my brother use to pull a 20' with a small trackhoe on it with his RCSB Z71.. crossed the scales at the gravel pit and i think it was around 25 or 26k... eek..
Didnt take it far cause it wasnt exactly fun to drive..

With the right hitch and goodies you should be fine just pay attn

The thing that you really need is a larger truck. 2500hd preferably a duramax but at least a 6.0

is it really? i guess the extra weight makes it more stable, i have pulled my enclosed around with a reg cab empty and it feels way different.

Maybe true, but the Yukon is alot heavier, and has better weight distribution than the RCSB.

I was just commenting on his wheelbase comment, but its been my experience that wheelbase affects towing much more than weight within reason. There isn't but about 800# difference between an rcsb and a Yukon which isn't much considering the gcvw of that rig is going to be pushing 10k. The LD hitch changes the game. Short wheelbase vehicles suffer from "porpoising" when using a weight carrying hitch due to the front of the vehicle having less leverage over the hitch due to the short wheelbase. But since he will be using a LD which equals the load between the axles, LD hitched totally change the way a trailer pulls and will make the load tolerable. Longer wheelbase and more weight on the tow vehicle will always help for sure. Load range E tires really help make a ton of difference.

Lost of good advice and if you follow it you should be OK. I think it is still going to be a bit hairy. I have pulled a few heavy loads with my bagged Tahoe including 10,000+

And a lighter but larger load

The Tahoe pulled both great and with the air bags out back I had no issue with weight or the truck handling funny because it was level. But if I were going to pull the camper regularly I would rather not do it with the Tahoe. The shorter wheel base, relatively light truck vs. trailer aren't the ideal set up.

You will certainly be able to haul your trailer if you heed the advice in this thread but if you have the opportunity I would look for a larger truck or a lighter trailer(open will help).
