Default 295/70 without new keys?

Can I run a 295/70/17 on my stock suspension with just a little torsion crank? How bad will it rub/will I have to trim? Thanks yall

You will have to crank a bit. It depends on what wheels and backspacing/offset etc. Are they oem wheels? When I ran oem's(17" Z71 8 lugs) I only had to crank and trim a little, but when I got my aftermarket wheels which are a 4.5 BS/ -12mm offset I rubbed pretty good and had to crank more. I will attach a pic of 295/70/17's on my truck for you to see. They look GREAT but the truck rides kinda rough when you crank em unless you get Cognito upper control arms which will give you 2 more inches of travel. Then you can clear em easy. I also have Keys as well, which are VERY cheap.

here ya go ..I only could find one pic on the oem wheels when I had em. They fit very nicely, minimal trimming and cranking.

Thanks a lot for the info man. That truck looks really good. So you say that does have ford keys in it? Where and how much did you get those control arms? Thanks man, and welcome to the site btw.

There's an apples and oranges comparison between your two trucks. A NNBS HD and a NBS 1500, makes a big difference. The shape of NNBS fenders sucks for stuffing tires, even in a HD.

NBS are much easier to stuff tires on. The 295/70 are going to fit on your truck with ford keys on stock wheels. I've even seen them fit on x9s with -12 offset with ford keys and trimming. They are tall, but the narrowness helps them fit.

Here's a few examples I found in my searching. I plan on running this size Nitto Trail Grappler in the winter on my truck with just ford keys:

thanks for the info. So I guess to run that size tire I WILL need to replace my keys, instead of just cranking mine to level it out.

You should be fine. Here's mine on 285/70's with the stock keys cranked up a little.

^ Are you maxed out?

What part of southern Illinois are you from? I used to live in Bethalto which is around Alton.

yeah I agree it is apples to oranges between the two models of our trucks. I would keep your stocks keys if you can to save your ride. You may have to change em though, I dont know. With the stock wheel you can fit them without a issue, just a little crank. They will look nice. Best of luck. The problem is that when you slap on bigger tires youre gonna want more and more..paycheck destoyers! But, thats the fun of it all. Enjoy it.
