I will also give you the opportunity to edit your post, afterward I will then edit my quote of your post to reflect your changes.
Answer me this: If you max the stock torsion bar keys out to a spring rate of 400lb/in, for example, and crank the Ford re-indexed keys to the same spring rate of 400lb/in, which setup will ride the roughest? Hint: It is a trick question.
Nobody ever said anything about loading both keys to the same spring height; obviously they would ride the same. The difference is that the Ford keys at the same spring rate will provide more lift.
You don't like Ford keys; awesome, we get it. I am standing by what I said earlier and just providing a possible alternative; not starting a pissing match with a newbie.

it doesn't matter what key you have, the angle of the a-arm dictates the spring rate and the lift. nothing else. one key is not going to put more spring weight on the bar at the same a-arm angle, compared to another key.

Dear newb- please do not respond to this, cause I will not argue with you.

A healthy crank (either stock keys or Ford keys if the stocks won't crank it up enough, common on '99+ trucks) is plenty to run 33x12.5x17s on stock wheels, possibly even 17x8s w/ 4.5" of BS depending on how much trimming one is willing to do (inner liner and valence). Hell, I'm running tires that are 32.8"x12.2" or so on a slightly lowered Z71 w/ no probs.

I just added the RC leveling kit on my 02 Z71 along with some new 285/75/16's on stock rims. I didn't "need" to raise it any, since there was zero rub at any point, but for the price of the leveling kit, complete with 4 new shocks, I couldn't beat it. Ride is not much rougher than stock IMHO.
