Question 4L60E concerns

Been digging around, looking for cam/tow upgrades for more efficient towing in hilly/mountainous terrain. Once I finish my engine "build," I'm afraid I'll have maxed out the 4L60E. Wiki says, "The 4L60E is rated to handle up to 360 ft·lbf (488 N·m) of torque." With the factory L33 (315hp/335lb ft), I'll have ~25lb ft to play with. I have the tow package and OE e-fans, but I know the OE trans cooler is limited.

I haven't nailed down a cam yet, but it will be in the neighborhood of a Stage 2 Truck/Tow type. 3.73s, LSD, and 33.5" tires. TBSS intake, 87mm TB, long tubes. At the wheel, I feel like I'll be pushing the limits of the trans now.

Am I on the right train of thought, or is a 25lb ft gain unrealistic, given the listed mods? And if so, is it the converter that limits the torque, or the trans itself? 250k+ on odometer (probably closer to 260 actual. Been running oversized tires for 2 years). Obviously, the ideal upgrade there would be a 4L80E but I didn't think I needed it until now. Now I'm really worried about the trans.

A 4L60E is always on borrowed time even in a stock truck.

You will Likely gain closer to 50hp at the wheels at the peak with those mods

It's more about how you drive it.
