The 8" wasn't cheap. The 6" was; but quality wise, it looked just like the 8. And yes, I had the front lifted. I did this on my 1/2 ton and didn't have any problems. My 2500 is kicking my butt though.

Mine was a dirt cheap one and it worked just fine.




Btw, did you have the front end on the ground or did you lift it when you were compressing them?
Lifting the front might take some extra weight off the bars and make it easier. I did not have to do this on mine though.
