Question Chevy NP205

I bought a 78 k2500. the transfer case is stuck in 4lo. anyone have any suggestions???

bigger hammer . . . .

didn't they have the aluminum shift forks?

if its a manual stick it in reverse and let it roll back very slowly while trying to pop it out.
also check to see if there is enough fluid in it

Does anyone know which cover to take off to get to the forks. dont want to tae the wrong one off and mess it up.

There isn't really much you can mess up by taking covers off. If I remember correctly there are only 2 covers that you can get off easily without some more serious disassembly. Unfortunately I don't know that you will be able to see anything that will help inside of either of those covers. First place I would look is at the shift lever mechanism and make sure one of the cotter pins for the mechanism hasn't fallen out.

Question

I checked all the exterior and everything is right. The guy i bought it from said that he jammed it into 4 low. Im hoping its something simple. but i know its somethin on the interior.
