I can't wait. Gotta install the new PSC steering pump, rebuild the passenger front hub, fill with fluids, get it inspected, go over all the bolts one last time, and she's ready to rock and roll. And yes, the cooler air will be much nicer than the 104 it currently is haha.

I'm interested to know how it does on the street with all the upgrades. Do you plan to get up to highway speeds at all or is it a dedicated trail rig?

I’ve had it up to 60 with the new stuff and it rode better than my 14 Silverado and tracked dead straight. Half the reason I’m fixing this stuff is I need it highway capable so I can take it to the office or run errands or safely make it to the off road park and back as I don’t have a trailer. She’s a driver. I love the looks driving it around with kid rock blasting and the old people turning up their noses.

Do you have a communication system in the K5?

That's also something I have been thinking about doing. I have buddies that have RZR's with PCI radios installed and have been seriously considering doing a full PCI system for the truck as well. In car so the kids can wear headsets when we go to the desert and we can all talk to each other as well as a car to car system so we can keep track of everyone in the group.

I don’t yet. Haven’t looked into it much because I haven’t really had a need for it. Now that I’ve got it to where it won’t fall apart I can take it more places and start wheeling with more folks.

In all honesty that's been what has held me back from purchasing something as well. Haven't really needed it. In the rzr's totally different story. Need them every ride we have been on. Going so fast and kicking up dust makes it impossible to follow close enough to stay together, even with fresh air helmets. So we all got communications and now its "take the left at the fork", "3rd power pole were stopped on the right" etc. But going out and desert riding with the family, were all in the same car and bump the music so there hasn't been a need for talking to anyone else lol. Recently I have found a group of guys to go ride with so it would be nice to have the same communication ability as in the rzr's

not much you can do on donk 20s, but at least i got out in the hills today. turned out to be a "4 wheeler" trail (<62" width)... wasn't marked until the end we finished at. there was a couple tight spots, but nothin' unmanageable. just put it in 4 High & let out the clutch in 1st.
