Default How much do larger tires realistically affect performance

I did a quick search without much luck. Lately I've been quite frustrated with babying my truck through the lovely streets of Oklahoma. Being that I can't own a stock truck I've been thinking of running the 7" pro-comp with some 305/70/16s.

With that said, how much should I expect the tires to hurt my times? Right now I'm running a 30" tall tire so it would be a 10% jump, but more importantly would be the weight difference.

If anything has anything to offer I would appreciate it.

David lifted his up for that same reason, and dropped it back down maybe a month later? Save yourself the trouble

That is the size tire I run and yes it will affect your performance. You can see below my mods and how it runs.I ran a 12.9 in about 60* weather a few weeks ago.It is run at the track like you see it below.

I'm no good at guessing times, but what do you think you'd be at with a 30" tall tire or similar?

It gets old bottoming out all the time, and not being able to use the truck much.

it does make a big difference... you also have to think about your truck being taller more windresistance and such. If you were to do anything i would say put it back around stock height and run a 31"-32" inch tire and and some more gear and it should be close to the same

Yes, but long before there was anything done to it performance wise. My truck is fun with the 150 shot, but it's not fun cringing every time I go over a bump or dip.

I say put it back to stock height with a 2" shackle in the back.

Yea, unfortunately I know I'll get bored with that. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Dodge 'em what is your drop? Could do it like tylers. His looks pretty badass. Cut a coil off the front springs and put hangers in the back
