Leveling without TB crank?
What other ways can you level the front of a nbs truck without cranking on the torsion bars? I want to get level but I do NOT want to lose ride quality. All I have heard is that when you crank up the tb's, the ride gets much stiffer and you have a chance of hitting the bump stops.
I have done a search and hear alot about the ford keys and such but is that the same as cranking the tb's? I'm a motor man, I can tear apart an LS1 like a pro......but I know nothing about suspension.
Any info and or advice is greatly appreciated.

Using the Ford keys repositions the TB's in the frame. From what I understand, if you put them in, with no additional "cranking", you should retain the stock ride.
Hopefully someone who has done it wil chime in.

You could always take the block out of the back if you dont want to crank your bars. Ford Keys just give you the ability to crank the bars more, exactly the same as cranking on the stock keys. Tighten them up a few turns, you won't notice a difference IMO.

yea i did the ford keys and to get any lift out of it you still gotta bottom out your bolts, i have about 9 threads on my bolts on mine which was about the same with when i have the chevy ones and i can only tell bout a 3/4" of lift, you still have to bottom them out to get any lift out of it, another thing is when i put my keys in i started to notice probs with my 4wd, then when i took them out and put the stock ones back in it fixed itself, i would suggest not doing the keys. skyjacker makes a 3" suspension for like $900 which is alot for 3"s but the lift is pretty easy to do from wat i hear
