I almost bought a SS when i bought my z71 but nobody(offroad shops) if they could lift it so that i could go out to the desert with more power and better looks. PS my wife's SS is used to tow the boat as well.

hahaha you crazy bastard! That's grand. Basically any 4wd lift will bolt on correctly, but idk about driveline issues. JD Fab built an SS w/ ~15" of travel up front while retaining 4wd. http://jdfabrication.com/photos/SS/SS.asp

Idk about where you guys live, but when you go mudding out here you have to pressure wash it before it dries because we dont have much dirt, mostly clay.
