Default need to know.. 33x12.5x17 fitting

well im still in the market... but i need to know if i do find a 2wd 1st.. will a 33 x 12.5 x 17 on a 17 x 9 with 4.5BS (or stock bs or whatever it takes) fit on a 2wd Tahoe front & rear? I have been searching but cant find a definable answer... I would love to stick the tires on it.. but I am not interested in a lift. I just need the minimum to fit the 33s... I do not mine a little cutting if it is necessary to the valence. Can anyone with some experience help me out. Pics are welcome with 33s x 17 on near stock suspension.

Well, we had a 03 Tahoe 4wd. Had 265/70/17's on stock 17's. 17x7.5

A 265 is equal to a 31'' tire. They were close

No way a 285 (33'') would have fit. Especially with a 9'' wide wheel.

I wouldn't go wider than a 8'' wheel. For a 33 you are definately gonna need a coil spacer (2'') front and rear.

Crank up the torsion bars and itll be close. I was running 33x12.5x17 on my truck on 17x8.5" wheels but they had 5.25" backspacing. All i did was cranked bars and no trimming needed.

2wd and 4wd Tahoe's have torsion bars for the front suspension and coils for the rear. with that said, you might fit a 285 on a stock wheel under there if you crank the tb's and trim some. With some 17x9's, no way IMO. I suggest a set of torsion keys/coil spacers and less trimming. The wheel offset/back spacing is more critical than the width. Do you want the tires stickin out? If so, more lift or less " of tire. On a '99ECSB Z71, I installed tb keys/blocks and run 20x9.5(+12offset) with 33x13.5 IROC's with no trim or rub.

Thanks guys, I'm almost sure it would fit, its all about backspacing and offset I was thought. I want the 17x9s so Im thinking like I said in the 1st post 4.5 bs may work but seems like only option is 5 bs they offer... I will crank & change the keys... wonder how that fit/looks?

NoTwotheSame I do not want the tires to stick out, I rather them stay flush with the vehicle; not in or out. If anything stick out 1/4 1/2 inch out the fender.

So whats the consensus? Any other input on this? Pics would sure help.

Stock keys cranked all the way and iirc i had a drop shackle in the rear. Dont remember if it was set at 1 or 2" at the time. I'm pretty sure it was 1".

His truck is also a 4x4, and you are asking about a 2wd. I don't believe you will fit a wheel/tire package like that on a 2wd just with a torsion crank. Also gonna have to bring the rear up somehow.
