I keep reading all of these threads and I think I'm convinced that I want 4.11's or 4.56's It seems like the best mod for low down performance and towing. My little 4.8 doesn't really make much below 3,000rpm's so I'm trying to bring the power band back down.

I agree. The gear swap helped my lil 4.8 get up and go a lot easier.
I'm running 30" tires and don't plan on going bigger so i went with 4.10s.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm just going to do the 4.10 because i do a lot of highway driving. Did you upgrade from 3.42 or 3.73? Did you notice any mileage increase from the motor having to work less?

Whats your RPMS at cursing speeds of 70-80mph? im thinking hard about going to a smaller tire. For go fast reasons of coarse.

I went from 16mpg to 18/19mpg overall(Mixture of street/highway and spirited driving with a few WOT runs). But i also did the gear swap with all the mods below. I'm sure that helped mpg's as well.
If you don't plan on running tires any bigger that 30" go 4.10s. anything bigger that 30s i would go lower gears(4.56s).

From 3.42 to 4.10s i did see an increase of fuel mileage on the streets.
