Quick Question about Z71s...
I'm new to Z71s so I dont know everything about them..
my rear squeeks alot due to the leaf springs more than likely, can I replace my set of leaf springs with a 2wd's set of leaf springs?? or are they different.

its probably the mud and dirt that is in there making it squeek, if you swaped the springs out with a 2wd it will probably sit lower in the rear.

It is my understanding (just from visually seeing the differences when sitting under literally hundreds of 1/2 tons over the years) that the Z71 gets its rear lift from the added 1.5" lift block in the back. I haven't heard of a leaf spring difference when comparing the spring rate (or lift height) of a Z71 vs a 2wd.

On the 99-07classic Silverado (GMT800) there is no difference in the springs, the only thing is a 2 inch block and its from the 4wd to the 2wd. Z71 has nothing to do with it, its a skid plate, shocks and stickers. Most of them got trans coolers and the g80 gov bomb, but not all of them.
