ya that should already be a dana 44/12 bolt if i am correct so there will be no need for axle swapping either, as long as everything runs properly as is. if you want a woods beater this is the way to go dude, post up some pics so we can see the shape of the body

Ill go either tomorrow or friday to take pictures, I just reallllllllly want a nice 4X4 to offroad so this should hopefully be it, I havent seen it yet myself but it was in the paper for a while now and no one has bought it, its a military ambulance so I hope its not crappy looking at least lol

Staight axle conversion has its pros and cons. Maintenance on the front end suspension goes down, b/c it tougher than a ******* rock. The bad side is that it rides liek its built like a rough *****. If its going to be a show truck, or 75% off road truck 25% hwy truck go for it.

If you want big power and big tires, sfa is the only way to go without spending a forture. sfa is also cheaper to lift, especially if you go with leaf springs. I'm in the process of converting my 1996 GMC Jimmy 4 door to sfa and a 350v8/th350 combo; so far I have less than $800 in it. I already have my engine (just finished building it), tranny, axles, springs, s10 v8 conversion brackets. Of course, I'm doing all the work myself, but it still wouldn't cost a real fortune or nothing.
