Yeah there was another guy who regeared to 4.56 while he had 33s so it would be ready for a lift and 35s; after he threw on the larger tires he was talking about doing 5.13s because he missed the torque so much

He said he LOVED it on 33s with 4.56s. I tell you what, I've thought about it a time or two; I just don't want to do it and decide to swap back to factory-size rubber or throw a blower on it and find out I've got too much gear for my setup.

well I installed the 40k and the truck is at my buddies shop having the g4.56s installed as we speak. I'll update on sunday when I get a chance to run it.
40k dropped my temps about 30*-40*

Im sure a lot of you have this chart but just in case ir if you forgot this helps me a lot. See where your tire size and gearing meet. The green is better cruising rpm the orange is a little more power. Engine rpm numbers are based one to one with overdrive off

I rock 33" with 4.11 tires, it's perfect in the city and for speeds under 70mph. Over that mileage starts going south quick.
But my truck weights right at 4800lbs, I'd go with 4.30 on your truck, 4.56 if you're going with 35" down the road

We will see. The difference between 4.30 and 4.56 is so small that I decided to over gear. When I need tires I'll probably get a lift an 35s. The truck is a bone stock 5.3 so I can use the low end gear to help pull that big ol' trailer.

well I put 600 miles on the new truck in the past couple of days. Finally really got into it tonight, she winds up fast. Cruising rpms were 2300 at 70mph. I'm coming out of 2nd right at 75 mph. I went on a 450 mile round trip to Corpus Christi togo fishing. I seem to be getting about 1 mpg less on the highway. I will report back with my overall average at the end of the week.
Part throttle response is awesome, no down shifting on the highway at all. I'm a happy camper.
