Ive heard from several that the nav sucks pretty bad...

Just make sure where ever you buy it from offers a drivetrain warranty of some sort for several thousand miles..If you plan on towing with it and if it has alot of miles the trans will likely not last to long..

The Nav is useless. I have an 06 with a K&N intake. Other than that it is %100 stock. I rarely tow with it. I have towed my 17' enlcosed trailer empty 500 miles or so round trip 55 or 60mph with no problems. If you add a trans cooler and don't drive like me towing the trans will last 100k. STOCK. Meaning no tune and keeping the factory torque management.
PCMforLess sells a very nice trans-cooler kit.

I believe all the TBSS's come with a tow package. Yes, transcooler is highly recommended for these trucks, or a 4L80e conversion Check out the tbssowners.com site. They have a section where members are selling or TBSS have's or have found TBSS's for sale.

david, i love my tbss, i used to tow my car with it back before i bought my truck. it always did great with my 18ft open trailer and car. i dont have a trans cooler on it but prob would but wife drives it daily and i dont tow with it any more. had no issues pulling the car 1200miles to the shootout when it was in memphis. mine is a 2wd as well though. is the white dmax not yours then?

thanks guys, think i'm getting pretty close on one.

the white gmc unfortunately isnt mine, its a friends.. he has a car we are building and it will be done soon and i am betting he will want to tow his own car!

towing my car isnt the main reason for buying , but i want to make sure if i want to do it i will be able to!

I have been throwing the idea around of getting one as well and that sums it up some for me. Did any of the years have mechanical fans/electric? What year did the grille change? They have all had the same engine and output correct?

I love mine. Even If you plan on staying stock I would definatley get a trans cooler. If you do start modding a trans should be the first thing cause it's gunna go sooner or later, just a matter of time. But I also know a guy running high 11's on a 150 shot and stock trans with like 80,000 miles
