Wife's still sore from the cash I spent on my z28. If I start dropping alot of dough on my new 2 week old DD I'll need money for a lawyer.

Sounds like a good place to start TX. I'll check the inlet first. What about the tubing to the throttle body? I've also heard something about the IAT sensor gets hot and needs to be relocated.

You can do a few different mods that will make a small difference with the LS2. The SSR members have been descreening the MAF, swap the throttle body for the C6/GTO/Z06 part or port the stock TB. The CAI should be an easy thing to build and shouldn't cost you to much either. The Intake Air Temp is in the MAF, it is the plastic covered sensor that sticks into the air path.

What's the difference in the Throttle Body? Thought the TBSS has a 90mm already?

Take a look at the pictures, the C6/GTO/Z06 Throttle Body Flows more air. The stock Throttle Body has ramps built into the intake and exhaust sides and the blade isn't even at a flat angle to the bore like the other. The change is a seat of the pants difference you can feel.

Stock Throttle Body:

Is it a plug and play deal?

Does it require anything else?

It is a plug and play conversion and works with the MagnaCharger also!

I never did an after dyno run with the conversion but I did have to add more fuel and drop the PE lower to compensate for the better airflow. I did this on my SSR after the MagnaCharger, I know of alot of SSR's that have done it to there non-supercharged vehicles and did not need to retune for it. See the statement below on the adaptive memory.

It still works fine with all of the CAI setups as the outer lip is the same OD as the stock Throttle Body.

The information was when I purchased mine from GMParts Direct, any of the others can get it close to the same price. I think the last one I ordered and had polished was around $270.00-$280.00 shipped to my door. It cost me another $60.00 to have it polished inside and out. I have done alot of these on the 05-06 LS2 SSR's.

**I do recommend that you remove the ECM (I think it is #29) fuse from the underhood fuse box for over 5 minutes to clear the adaptive memory of the computer so it will learn the new airflow during the start-up cycles.
