Default How much Power can TBSS AWD handle?

Looking to get a TBSS AWD as a second vehicle for the family. Whats the weak point? Transmission? How does the transfer case handle some extra power? Maybe boost. I figure the trans is the weak point. Let me know your real world experience.

Yeah the 4L60 sucks everybody knows that, as far as the TC Ive hear of people getting close to 700 hp on the stock TC... So you probably dont have to worry about that

Agreed. If there was one major idiot move GM made, it was that transmission. If my memory serves me, it's a 4L70, which is a 4L60 with a few upgrades, which is the same transmission they put in the 4 cylinder trucks. It's also the same reason the JGC SRT-8 will run the TBSS stock.

If you are looking for big numbers and have the cash, that is def the first place I would start. Everyone wants the hp, but I feel the transmission is so weak, you're better starting off there instead.

Shift kit and servos will be a good first upgrade...the tranny will take 400-450rwhp alright...really depends on driving style for longevity at those power levels...

ive heard of an oiling issue they have. something to do with the oil pan having the sump in the front of the pan. under hard acceleration, the oil moves to the back of the pan, causing the oil pump to cavitate
