Default Low end torque MIA!! New Cam?

Why in the world are these things such dogs down low? Cam, intake manifold??

There is really no good reason that I can think of. It's a 6.0 with 4:10s..WTF!!! My SSS was a beast down low compared to this thing and it was heavier.

If I got a new cam I'd be looking for:

- Good for a boosted LS2(7-9psi)
- Better off boost part throttle torque(better highway cruising, low throttle accel)
- Decent top end, doesn't need to have a 6500+ rpm shift point though. RPM band can shift down some. TVS1900 will make up for that some.
- Decent idle but, a little lope is ok
- Stock stall will probably stay in for a while
- Will have 1 7/8" Kooks headers

I guess I shoulda titled this different, looking for suggestions on cam! Doesn't have to be off the shelf grind.

My lowend is finally just "acceptable" bolt on lq9 w/4.10s. I still feel like the low end isn't great and I want more, but realistically, short of a blower, this is as good as it's going to get. The LS2 should have better low end than the LQ9 due to ~1 point higher compression.

Have you thought about calling Richard at WCCH? He spec'd my cam and you know how much low end torque it makes

I just started looking around and almost immediately read some comments about it that made me go "maybe that isn't the right cam for me"

You would think right! Total dog until about 3200rpm at WOT, very lazy part throttle below that also.

I have talked with Richard a bit threw PM but, haven't had a chance to give him a call at a good time. I think I'll have time tomorrow morning, job I was supposed to start tomorrow morning got put off. Honestly though I was not impressed with your truck at all.

If this goes anything like my thread everyone is going to try to convice you to change the converter..... haha.

Like Josh said, I would call Richard. As mentioned above Alvin at PCMforless does have a couple grinds that look promising. Check out the LS2 stealth cam on there site. Its like 216/228 .56x/.56x 116lsa ( off the top of my head.)
