Not necessarily. I'm the OP from the thread posted above. I never actually ran the motor using the SSR ECM so I dont know for a fact if the SSR ECM will communicate on the TBSS data bus. Data bus communications was the reason this project was not completed. If the SSR ECM does communicate on the data bus, then this swap will be no problem.

Why wouldn't you want to? It's an awesome idea. I autocross mine so it would be exremely useful. I've thought about tackling it myself but changed my mind since my tbss is my nice, calm, peaceful truck.
