TBSS coilover install pictures and info.
1) Lift truck up and place jackstands on frame
2) Remove 2 top nuts (easier if going from engine compartment) with a ¾ inch deep socket on both left and right struts. They are found in the area I circled on top of the strut in this pic. After you do that you will need to unlossen the nut on the lower a arm with a 15/16 socket and then use a puller to pull the arm off. It comes of very easily with a puller. You will need a puller with thin prongs at the end. Take a look at how much space is between the lower strut mount and a arm side and thet will help you out.
3) Once you get the sturt assembly out on both sides unloosen thie circled left bolt and swap it to the new coil over. You will need a 18mm socket for this. Make sure not to tighten that nut yet. You will do that later on when final adjustments are done. NOTE- in the picture the measurements between the lines. This set up will lower the truck about ¾ of a inch. If you bottom out the lower strut mount and measurement is 1 ¼ and then you tighten the spring so the measurment is 7 ½ inches this will lower the truck about 2 inches. (its easier to adjust the spring when the strut is bolted in the truck)
4) Put the coil over back in with strut mount attached and tighten the lower strut mount nut (15/16) and then do the same to the other side. Place floor jack under the arm and guide the 2 studs threw the holes on the upper frame and then do the same on the drivers side. You might need one person to guide other side in also as you jack up your side. In some trucks you might need to enlongate the hole a 1/16 of a inch with a circular file
5) So the 2 studs pop threw and you tighten both sides down. NOTE- You will need to buy 4 M10x1.25 pitch nuts and also some washers.
6) Tighten the spring nuts against themselves but leave the strut mount nut and bolt on bottom alone don't tighten it yet.
7) Put the tires on the truck and move the truck forward 10 feet and back 10 feet while hitting the brake this will let the coilovers compress. Then take measurements from ground to fender lip and if you want to lower it more turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right and just turn the lower circular mount counter clockwise so it starts sprinning up which in turn will lower the truck. You will need to put a floor jack under the truck and jack it up by the frame to relieve tension on the coil over mount to do this. Tighten the lower mount all the way and then use the nut tool to lock it into place. Now you can tighten the 18mm nut and bolt on the strut mount and your done.
On the top of the coilovers you can now adjust the compression. Clockwise turns makes it stiffer and counter clockwise makes it softer. Id set it to the middle which is the 8th click and go from there.
BTW if you adjust spring so its at 7.5 inches from the measurements in above pics and lower measurement on the strut mount to 1 1/4 inches your truck should look like this which is about 31 1/4 inches from ground to fenderlip which is about 2 inches lower than stock
