$1700 to rebuild a 60E!!!
#12
... I called a transmission shop and got a quote of $1700 to rebuild and beef up my 60E. I think it's alittle steep but wanted to see what you guys thought. I'm gonna get a stall too while I'm at it,the transmission might not news to be rebuilt but figured might as well do it to be on the safe side even though the fluid is still red and doesn't smell burnt.
I know y'all are gonna say to do the 80E but I don't the space to do it and wish I knew someone trustworthy to do the swap for me because right now that seems to be the best thing to do. I can get a rebuilt 60E from the same guy I've used before on my old truck for $550 but it's not beefed up.

More food for thought. As for stock $550, not sayin he doesn't do a nice unit, but u want more power, so what happens when this occurs? --> I've had my Radix on < 2 mos. I want more power. If I never did the Levl 7, not sayin u need a L7, but had a marginal trans on stock boost, it'd be ...
More boost likely ..., an even bigger pile!!!:turd2
On the 80E, it's your choice but if u really want 80E, once u find a worthy place to do it for ya if ya want, it boils down to this. Pay / find swap parts, tune & trans, If ya want a built 80E, after payin for what I just said & core, take FLT for instance, a built 60E in it's best form is about = to a built 80E from them, pricewise. Or ... $3K = $3K. Basically.
Also, the tweaked CircleD convertor for $400? is a 60E convertor that might fit your needs.
This 1 here, & Chris is really cool; great customer srvc.!!!
