I've driven a V8 Lincoln LS, and I was thoroughly impressed. I've never driven a Maxima, so I can't give you any insight there. I think the Maxima's look super hot and I'd love the chance to drive one.

Best advice...you and the wifey should go test drive a couple of each. Do a little reading on Edmunds, check out C&D's or R&T's website and see if there are any roadtests of them. I don't think you'll be dissatisfied with either of them. Best of luck to y'all man!

One thing to consider...the Mercury Marauder. They're nice cars, V8 powered, and have plenty of aftermarket stuff for the mod motor. Just an option.

My wife drives a 02 maxima. I have run down some Mudstains with it on the interstate. Its very dependable and handles like a dream. At 130 it feels like 70.

I know a few guys that have run some 14.70s with a stock Max 6 speed. They are roomy too.

I know another guy that has a LS and he tells me all the time he wishes he would have bought a Maxima.

Might want to check out the new Avalon as well, They are pretty nice.
