my friend has a 99 galant. replaced battery last week (it was bad.) it ran for a couple of days and now wont start.. all we hear is clank. put cables on it and still clank. lights work, horn,radio,etc.. so i thought it was the starter replaced it yesterday.. still same clank.. i can hear the starter sounds like it wants to engage on flywheel but wont turn motor over. it almost sounds like the motor is locked up. can a motor just lock up over night? i would think it would run like **** first then lock up..? thanks

 

Change the alternator, its not charging the battery....

 

if it was the alt it would start with cables at least. then die when cables removed. right? we put cables on it too.

 

anyone else have any suggestions?

im in houston and i dont mind at all

 

i thinks its locked up. cant spin it with plugs on and its very hard to spin with all plugs out.
