my friend has a 4.3 tracker its 2wd though he was able to put it in with minimal mods and no specific parts purchased. so its def not a hard swap for 2wd.

OK guys, I've been dragging this project out do to OTHER projects but its coming down to crunch time! Spent all night constructing a new oil pan. All the 4.3 vehicles came with a driver drop tcase and the oil pans didn't allow a passenger drop driveshaft, so I just constructed my own. Here's a picture of what I have done do far. Along with the motor. Went with a cast iron mercruiser 4bbl intake. I didn't want to fool with all the sensors. I WISH TO GOD I would have kept the EFI tho. I'm going to have to make a set of headers and just so happens I have a couple 60-70mm turbos sitting around. Ehhh....a blow through setup is just too much money though. I also found a beautiful nv3500 for $50 and a np208 for $75 so I will have a sweet little setup for very little money!

I'm betting 25mpg. S-10 blazers could pull near 20mpg, tracker is about half that weight.

This will be one hell of a fun DD!

very nice!!!
20mpg will be no problem if it doesnt have low gears.
What size tires? and what transmission you plan on using?

Well the 4banger only got 24mpg tops. I don't know that the 4.3 will do THAT well mainly do to the Geo having 5.xx something gears!! I hope the NV3500 is geared tall! Probably a lot of 2nd gear take offs and direct switch to 5th hahahahaha
