Default 6.0 Chevy gets 27mpg???

My buddy wont stop with the "a buddy of mine with a 3/4 ton Silverado 6.0L gets 27mpg on the highway" ****. He claims that with Displacement on Demand(not even available on 6.0s) and HP Tuners its easy to do. Has anyone ever got 20mpg with a 6.0L? Everyone I know with them has rarely got better than 15 with them.

3/4 ton is pretty heavy.
i get roughly 22mpg on the interstate and around 25ish on the highway. but im in a half ton and have a pretty good leaned out cruise tune.

no way he gets that out of a 3/4 ton.

now if he wanted to, he could change his tire height and gear ratio in the tune to show that good of mileage..... Mine is calibrated with GPS.

I know a guy that claims 27+ on a reg basis with a crew cab gmc with the 5.3. I would have to see it for myself to belief it.

No way, I'm at 21 on the highway with Charlie tuning it for a while to maximize my mpg. Stock was about 16.
