Im gonna have to get a picture of my "light pole" as its been named..
my 300wm has a 26" barrel and the suppressor is another 7" so it looks more like a funny shotgun..

I sold my russians, I had ~5 russians from differing years. The SKS is a wonderful firearm, I can field strip blindfolded in under a minute. Make sure your firing pin is clean and free of oil Does your pin free float or is it sprung?
I know you know how to care for a gas operated firearm, enjoy. Look on the net for that loader, I've seen video of potatoes going several hundred yards

If the pin is a floater I will always disassemble the pin from the block and clean throughly. Any lube in there will carbonize and could cause the pin to stick, potentially creating a slam fire.
People have been hurt by this happening so I am always cautious. If the pin is clean it will slide back and forth under it's own weight. Never lube.
