Default Any ak47 builders on here?

well i just acquired a Romanian ak and as i was looking for accessories i stumbled across a parts kit so after a little more research (6hours of sitting at my desk reading though forums) i was interested.. so i guess my question is has anybody here done such thing and is it worth it to build one or would i bee better off just buying one thats built already.

the reason i post here and not at the gun forums is due to the fact that im comfortable around fellow gear heads...

Yeah, I think Austinbelair knows some stuff about them, he's had one up for sale in the classifieds, might want to shoot him a pm and see if he knows what you need

What's the details on the Romak you just picked up?

I've got a SAR-2 AK74.

I'd imagine it's probably a WASR series AK. Is it 7.62x39 caliber?

Post up some pics, as well as all the writing and engraving.

Hmm from what I can tell it might be a WUM-1. I'd say it was a CUR-2, but what I've found shows they're only 5.45x39.

Check this link out.

EDIT - After looking at the pics above, you can see WUM-1 written on the rifle.
