Thanks for the heads up, reliability of the 5.0 is something I'll be researching more as I get ready to buy a car. The LS3 and the Hemis are pretty much a known commodity at this point.

Something else that I was surprised by is the price of used Camaros and Challengers. Prices are so high there are times buying used would only save about $1,000. If buying used will only save me a grand I'll just buy a new car! Anyway, a decent deal on a Camaro/Challenger could change my mind.

I drove a crummy v6 camaro, never really had any issues with visibility, and the 6.2 is def a monster in one of those ive been in...

But 5.0s are also nice, just depends if youre going to travel to the darkside or not...

If i had a choice of anything in this thread CTS-V all day...

I know they've all had their share of issues. but it comes with the territory when there's so many changes and new engines hitting the market. GM wasnt without their share of grief when the DOD system came out with lifters etc... Ford's VCT system has remain largely unchanged for the past several years, but the 5.0's 4v heads are completely new and probably will have a few issues for the first couple years in production. I really think this one shortblock screwup is an isolated deal though unless I start seeing a few more of them.

the challenger looks best...but performance is lame. awesome looking car though

the mustang is the only 1 of the 3 that i would consider as a real sports car.

the camaro is an ugly POS. if i HAD to choose from the 3 it would be mustang. if i could step outside, a 2007 or 2008 vette can be had for the same price. also a nice used ctsv.

those new stangs are bad. We just added an CAI, Roush Axle Back, and SCT tune to my buddies 2012 M6 5.0. That dam car just pulls and pulls. He ran low 13s his very first run with the car stock, spinning and short shifting lol. He hasn't run it again since he doesn't have a helmet, but we will be out there soon hoping for traction and low 12s..

I seen 2 go 12.30s @ 115 with a tune and a Cai! Sick! And the new camaro wont even come close... cts v would be first choice but price is well beyond the new coyote 5.0

They're definitely quick, especially with a few mods.

I'm considering other vehicles as well. The CTS V I want is out of my price range, nice C6 Vettes are usually out of my price range and the insurance and aftermarket parts are more expensive. Thought about an 05-06 GTO, but the aftermarket isn't that great for them and I don't like the styling that much. I would love to have a G8 but I want a manual transmission and the GXPs are way pricey.

Who knows, maybe I'll get an M6 Challenger RT and hose it down with bolt ons and a blower.
