Houston is nice in my opinion. Except for the traffic. The beach here can't be anything like Cali but I actually like going to Galveston. Homes are cheap and the job market is probably better than most places.

Good luck with the paint Bill, Thats some ****.

Move to Montana. You can find nice 3-5 bedroom homes around 2k sq ft with anywhere from 10-30 acres for around $150k-300k.. Just depends on what set up you find that works best for you.. I went to Montana and Yellowstone last summer with Family and its awesome. Cali is a **** hole compared to there. But it gets ALOT colder and no beach there. But plenty of beautiful country.

We hope to be moving there in a couple years..

Bill, you know I've lived in Calif for more than a few years, and I have to say the living in Texas is where it's at.

I'll take a hurricane over an earthquake or mudslide any day.

I know what you mean when you say apartment life. Luckily, I have an enclosed garage to park my Camaro but the truck has to stay outside. It's assigned parking and covered but I still have to park next to people. I get a little nervous sometimes when my neighbor parks close to my truck and I have no choice but to look for door dings, lol. I've been lucky so far but some day that will probably change.

if you're gonna move to this area, move north of houston into the woodlands or conroe. the woodlands is probably one of the nicest communities i have ever seen
