Best way to mark off a 1/4 mile?

laser range finder should get you pretty close. If you have any buddies who hunt, ask them if they have one. Park your truck, walk out to where you think a 1/4 mile is, turn around and range your truck. It will measure in yards so you will be looking for 440 yrds.

We usually get the old style gtech out and make a semi-real pass with it down the road. When it blinks that its over, you can mark the area visually where you're at, or you can just drop something onto the side of the road to mark it. A paintball or something will work just fine for marking the spot.
