Well at least somethings got clarified in that thread... Patrick G's explanation, which makes sense... I might have overlooked the explanation earlier in the thread... So at least we are not morons...
That's exactly right. I was not referrring to TXSilverado with that comment. Most truck guys over-cam because they see their heroes running big cams yet fail to realize there are other parts of the combo necessary to hit the numbers (converter, gearing, exhaust, compression, tuning, and traction). Some guys want a 240+ duration cam in their stock low compression LQ4 with stock torque converter, shorty headers with cats and no gear. Those guys would fall into the moron category.

Stew, that raised my opinion of you quite a bit reading that.
that guy was behaving very childishly with no rhyme or reason. i can only assume that his car is not as fast as your "stupid truck" and it angers him. thats the kind of people i like to slap the dogshit out of.
what an assclown. no fact or reason to bash you, just felt like doing it i guess? i believe in Karma though, maybe someone will knock the **** out of that dude next time he is out in a bar somewhere

so, anyone running a cam without heads, intake, gears, springs,stall,lt headers.... is a moron.good to know, i was considering a cam...but not anymore. unless i start shitting gold bricks.i know he was referring to "big" cams.but i gleaned from this that one is wasting his time with a cam without ALL of the supporting modifictations.things have progressed, i remember reading several posts of morons just installing cams with a tune and maybe some lt headers.... idiots.
