Default Big Trouble-Little China

Well it's not little China but I'm in Vietnam! Flew out of San Fransisco Tues morning and landed here this morning, Weds. about 15 hours in the sky with a 3 hour layover in Taipei.
I'm 13 hours ahead of my buds on the west coast here.

My first experience was in the taxi on the way to my wife's friends house, where I am now. It's downtown Saigon.

As a bike rider and a self proclaimed crazy driver I can tell you I'd never be brave enough to drive or even ride a bike here....crossing the street on foot is a maybe.

The people are genuinely nice and I'm sipping one badass Vietnamese coffee as I type this.

Pics are uploading but the wireless here isn't as fast as home, go figure.

pics added. THese are with the cannon point and shoot through a closed window so forgive me.

Driving is pure insanity. Buses, trucks, cars, scooters, bicycles, things that look like they might be bicycles and pedestrians all "sharing the road with no visible order. I mean it was pure pandemonium. I did witness one 'biker' getting hit by a car but both pulled over to talk about it in a friendly manner. No rules here but somehow it works?

Cool pics. I'd love to travel abroad to see life in other areas.

What is the deal with all the face masks on the scooter riders?
