I was just saying the same thing a few days ago to the wife I could have my own little village

3 weeks and it's coming to an end. The next 3 days we will take friends out for meals and say goodbye for at least another year or two. I could live here easy. It's not got all the conveniences of home but in a lot of ways there's no stress here. People are happy and very friendly. Even poor people with barely enough to make the rent and eat are happy. Most people here make $100/month. $200-$300 for educated employees like engineers and such. Definitely could take that SS check and do very well here as long as no major medical attention was necessary.

Glad you like the pics!

I've knocked the air out of Eric once before, and I can do it again. And no I didn't hit him in the jewels, it was the solar plexus.

Very cool Emperor Bill. Could someone get around there only speaking English? I made stops in Hong Kong and Singapore on the way back from Australia and had less trouble there than I did in San Francisco! It looks amazing there, I wanna go now!

You could manage with English only but not too well. The Vietnamese people love to try speaking English with me and other visitors they meet so at the least it would be fun. Having someone who knows the language is a definite advantage though as you're likely to over pay for most everything otherwise.
