Good choice. The great thing about the FZ1 is that it has detuned R1 engine. Versus the Bandit, etc that have lower tech engines or older designs. Those FZ1's have the best HP in their class if I remember correctly.
Have fun and keep the rubber on the road.

Edit- Also, go to motorcycleservices.com for an insurance quote. They use Kemper I believe, so it isnt a second rate deal. Plus they had the best prices I ever found for my Buell.

Its amazing how close they look to each other. I had an old neighbor who actually owned both, but the old one had a solid black paint job(repainted).

Hayabusa = NOT touring bike
