I know how you feel....
I have broke or fractured both my hands many times. You will be ok IMO...The knuckle will be tender for a good couple weeks depending on usage but,its not going to disable anything.
I caught a fresh injury last night playin softball.Looks to be pretty similar to what you got.The reason my pinky and ring are so far back is a break in the bones behind the knuckle a few years back.

Nobody is going to die from a hand fracture but is a bone in your hand (or pretty much anywhere else) something you want to heal incorrectly? You also risk getting it injured even more. I'd pony up the money and get it taken care of and then find a way to get health insurance.
PS: This isn't medical advice but if you aren't going to a doctor you need to keep your ring and pinky finger straight for the next 4 weeks.

Yup, go to the doctor.
This is gonna sound redneck as hell: When I was in high school, I raised a steer for FFA. My steer got into my dad's garden (his pride and joy) and laid over the beans. My dad ran out there and threw his best "one-hitter-quitter" into middle of the steer's forhead. Long story short, he woke up the next morning with a bruise in the center of his hand. Double boxing fracture: cast for 6 weeks...

Not sure if you broke anything. My brother bruno had a double boxers fracture and it swelled to literally twice the size of his normal hand. If it doesnt swell or turn purple its probably not broke at all.

Im late, but I have had a boxers fracture twice in the same spot.
go to the doctor. It hurts but you cant tell if anything is broken. i was in high school . I think it was $1500 for the cast.
it can really **** you up if you dont take care of it. If you havent gone by now, have fun. They will have to re-break it (did this to me once) then set it. I had a half cast.
get it over with.
