Cammed Trucks... Anyone else go through this?

The one thing I didnt like about having my white truck was the "is that thing supposed to run like that?" and the rednecks coming up and asking me if it had a 3/4 cam. Or asking if it was a 327 or 350. Then thinking it was a 400 when I would tell them 6 liter.
But next year I'll be back in a 228 cammed 5.3 so let the games begin again. lol
lol yea I got that one time too. Someone was riding with me and said "is this thing ok, sounds like the transmission is slipping" Im like no its fine. lol

Mine idles just smooth enough nobody ever notices and with the stock muffler and no cats its subtle. But if somebody thats been around racing hears it they smile and say thats a sneaky cam haha.
I use to hear all kinds of mess when i had the turbo. I had the 2step set at 3000 amd pullin 10* timing. Drop it down into first and hammer on it while on the 2step. Let off the 2step and away it went after all that violent noises they called it.
I avoid most people just for the sake of not wasting brain cells haha

Out to dinner with the fiance' last night.....great night starting off till i mentioned i want to change my setup a little (converter, headers, maybe heads) she said "why? Its a big waste of time and money. Its already fast enough and how often do you race it anyways?" i simply said "its what i like to do, itll never end and i hope one day my son tells me "dad, i want to start drag racing with you. It's not about having the "fastest truck" its about having a goal and doing all the hard work it takes to reach your goal of HP or E.T. I love how she thinks im going to stop "modding" my truck. Its not lile i have a 10k motor, 5500 turbo kit, a 3000 transmission shooting for 9s in a CC

to this as well! luckily i know a lot of cops around here which grew up with my dad and used to street race...
