I have a stock 5.3 '05 crew cab with just a resonator and I can break the tires loose on my 17" Kumho's which grip very well. I dont even have to powerbrake it.

i have a 5.3 with only exhaust with 305/45/22's and the g80 and i can easily spin the tires powerbraking.

if you have a pegleg like me i can floor the parking brake, foot brake and gas to 4grand and it will spin like no tommorrow grab the release when it hits 4grand cuz it will start dinging with a brake light....and this is with the 4.3l v6

Not being able to spin isn't necessarily a bad thing. Does it launch pretty hard? If it does then it sounds like you're able to do something most of us have been trying to accomplish unsuccessfully for a while.

i cant power brake also, but i read that GM did something with the programing so that it detects when you have the brake pressed, it limits power output.

I can launch pretty hard without even chirping but it will go kind of sideways into second. But i can still do a standstill.

Surprised no one ask what gears you have. If you really want to spin that bad, add a torque converter with a little higher stall. 3500 should be good


Of course then you will be posting "cant stop spinning"

I had the same problem with my 05. It has to be caused by Torque Management, once I got a tune that reduced torque management I was able to spin the tires.

sounds like the problem is the driver, absolutely no problem breaking mine loose even when it was stock
