Then, when they test a truck, they never (or very rarely) test what I'd call a performance version, read: lightest. They test a CC 4wd or a 4wd EC. I wish they'd test a reg cab 2wd truck for once. It is supposed to be a enthusiast magazine.

Frito Bandito, I'd much rather have that engine in a Mustang GT too, but some need capabilities of a truck or can't drive a Stang year round.
2007chevy5.3l "I've drove the new 5.0 f150 and it defiantly has alot of down low torque. I was very impressed with the overall power. Stock for stock it'd eat a 5.3."
While this may be true, 412HP vs what's the most powerful 5.3, 320HP, right? Not fair to compare an engine out since 99 or so to today's tech (5.0). And sadly, the 5.0 does so w/. less cubes. Hello Chevy? Time to upgrade.

When it's a Vette, Camaro, or bla bla some kind of car, the mags will test a performance variant. Say a Z06 or ZR1 or Camaro SS. Sometimes they test a plain jane car from a given maker too tho, w/. the smaller HP or engine like a V6.

No hatin from me, I just someone would have the ***** to produce a reg cab again. Much as I liked the L's, the SRT10 Ram, Chevy cheated true truck hot rodders by not offering a reg cab. Just like u want to see a L w/. manual trans.![Happy](https://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)

but I didn't just want to see one. I wanted to own one and drive one. And I made it happen. SS trucks are nice, a RC would of owned. Just throw a 6.0 in yours, throw on some SS wheels, front bumper minus SS badges, then bolt up a 6 speed in there. Done.
trust me, it's worth it.

I love when people go outside the box. A T56 outta what in yours? Cobra or ...?
Trust me, I've thought of it. All of it. Esp. the 6 spd. I figured it'd cost way more than built 60E, so didn't do it, yet be more durable.

I guess I also worried of tuning for 6M. If I had to do it all over again, even tho I love my FLT L7, I'd love to row my own & get better MPG's than havin a stall. Don't think it'll happen now since I spent the coin on the FLT / stall & ancilliary stuff.
