I signed up for mine because I'm pretty sure they filled up pretty fast. You might want to call down there and sign up or make sure you got a spot.

In MI, our permits dont have any restriction as to what gun you carry, as long as it's under 30 inches your good! Our permits are one of the so called harder permits to get, but we are allowed to carry in I believe 32 or 33 states. Some states dont have to even take a class or shoot on a range to "qualify". Michigan has 2 tests and required like 250 rounds on the range

Texas has revolver or semi-auto classifications. If you take the test with a revolver, you can only carry a revolver. If you take the test with a semi-auto, you can carry any type of pistol. Ofcourse in Texas the car is considered part of your "castle" so you can carry in your vehicle anytime, anyplace with or without a license.

It is this way in Oklahoma along with the derringer class. I believe if you take it with a simi-auto you can carry anything below .44 mag in any type of pistol. You will be fine taking the class with your Walther.

One question though. Does the $75 for the class include the finger printing and passport photograph? If it does then it's a reasonable price, if it's just the class it's about $25 too high. I currently only have a Utah license, which is good in Oklahoma and was cheaper and faster to get, but intend on getting an Oklahoma license eventually.

My class in Texas was $100 for everything: class, fingerprints, photos, paperwork, range ammo, the whole bit. Everybody said it'd take forever for the state to process it, but it took probably about 10 weeks. Not bad in my book.

That doesn't include the fingerprinting or your passport photo. You can go to pretty much any Fedex Kinko's, Walgreen's, etc. and get a passport photo for about $10. You still have to fill out your packet and submit it to the Sheriff's Office with your course completion certificate then pay OSBI (around $100 I think). Hopefully they won't reject your fingerprints the first time around or else you'll get sent to the back of the line.

Around here the classes are only $50-60 so unless they are including ammo or photos I think $75 is too high. Fingerprinting has to be done at your local sheriffs office anyway and they will probably charge you for it (not to exceed $25).

You might want to look around a bit. This place has good review for your area

Here is a thread on the OKS forum with some additional info on classes in the OKC area.
