Default Crazy Diesel Prices

So Ive been passively looking at used Dmaxs(07-10s) with the intentions of picking up another one and trading my Vmax in on it. Im beginning to find out that people think diesels are made of gold. Apparently people are paying the ridiculous moneyf or them otherwise the price would lower. Im basically looking at the exact same truck as mine options and mileage wise and the couple of trucks Ive called on they want the title to mine and 15K roughly. The ONLY difference between the two trucks is 3/4 ton and duramax, that's IT! WTF? The dmax and 3/4 ton option was about 10k on the sticker price, how does it multiply on the secondary market. If I don't find a better deal in the next couple of months it looks like Ill be forced to keep the vmax and mess with it. I refuse to pay 15K to move up to a diesel in the same damn truck. Maybe if my current truck was a stripped down base model and I was going to a diesel that's loaded out, but my truck has every option GM had in 07 and is pretty good shape.

Am I missing something here? 07 LMMs with 150k going for 30K

Market value. Around here 2000 Powerstroke wil cost $15k. '06'ish Cummins wil run about $25k with 150,000 on it. Duramax at least $30k for an '07 with 100k on it. It's rediculous what people are paying. I've stopped looking. I traded my '03 Duramax in cause I couldn't sell it for book($18k) or OBO. Dealer told me he would get $20k for it easy.

Yeah I bought my 06 lbz fully loaded ccsb 4wd jan of 08 with 76k for 26otd, now I'm looking at 6-7 year old trucks with twice the mileage and these people are wanting 5k MORE that what I paid for my lbz. Its ridiculous, I just dont understand it. I was willing to give my truck and 10kish for a like condition dmax but it seems that figure is atleast 5k off. If I were to buy an lmm for 30k I might as well put another 10k with it and get a nice lml denali with well below 100k. Im just not willing to soend that kind of money on a truck right now.

So if anyone finds an lmm crew cab short bed 4wd dmax in black fully loaded and less than 200k for 25ish let me know. It seems thats impossible though.

I haven't even got one call on my 07 classic dmax for $18,000... And that's priced just under book.

Im willing to pay 30k for an LMM in good condition fully loaded exactly like my truck if theyll give me 15 for mine. Now whether the msrket will bear that or not is a different question. Im going to give it a couple months before I make a final decision but my initial looking hasnt been too promising. The problem is I want a truck with the exact options my current truck has. Black, crew cab, short bed, ltz/slt with plus package, sunroof, nav, rear dvd, no body damage (bumpers is fine) and around 100k. Id prefer one that was a hair under 100k in case theres something wrong the drivetrain.
