Default Diesel fuel milage??????? I need 1!!!!!!

im getting ready to do some gov. work and i need a diesel dually! the ? is which 1s get the best milage? i will be pulling a 44ft. gooseneck with 2 20ft. enclosed trailers on it. if any bodys got any input on 2wd vs 4wd chevy ford dodge etc. id like 2 know what years yall got 2wd or 4wd and what kinda milage they get around town or loaded and if loaded how much weight? im a diehard chevy man but for this job i want dependabilty and milage! if yugo made a diesel dually that was dependable and got 30 miles to gallon loaded hell id drive it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think all the newer stuff is getting close to about the same... really between dodge and chevy. Decide if you like the duramax or cummins better then you'll be set.

Stay away from 6.0 diesels unless they have a clean oasis report and already have head studs and an egr delete kit... with that being said, mine got 14mpg highway with 35" tires... I work with a few people that have the new 6.7 fords and they love em... personally, for a work truck, I would buy a 5.9 cummins

For that job, get a 2WD cummins with a manual transmission. 5.9 liter, stay away from the 6.7.

Also, since MPG's and towing capacity are part of the equation, stay with something that is at stock height, and stock size wheels & tires.

yea ive been thinking about a dodge. im just die hard chevy man. but its 4 work and i mite use it 2 pull my race car 2. anybody know what kinda milage the 5.9 dodges get?

All of them are more than capable, and get about the same mileage. It's going to be preference. Just go out and test drive them all and do your research on the things that matter to you the most.
