Dogfish Head brews
#21
Any other opinions on the 90 minute? The class 6 on base has a nice selection and there's a few different dogfish heads, if not there is a beer specialty store about 15 minutes away with a lot of different micro brews.
We used to be able to buy Yuengling but it's not around anymore.
If you like porters/stouts, try Stone Imperial Russian Stout. Makes Guinness taste like water It's also 10.5%

As RJ eludes to, Koonerville is very partial to Dogfish. There is a Dogfish pub near my work, mmmm mmmm fugging mmm. I left the cheap beer loooooong time ago. And I am hurting on the wallet these days as well. Late into a party or bbq, if I am out of my beer...I'll hit the lites. But I will start with Guiness or St Paulis or DFH or Stoli Vodka. That's about it.
Thanks BigTex...thirsty now. ( @ $45 12 pack though)

Have you had the Dogfish 60IPA? The 90 is sweeter (in taste). I actually don't care too much for the 90. Kooner really likes it. He loves the Midas Touch and will actually kill people in line for the Punkin Ale from Dogfish. The 60 as BIGTEX has said, IMO kicks complete ***. I know taste is different for every one, but man I LOVE LOVE the 60IPA from Dogfish. I buy a different IPA every week just about, I always come back to the Dogfish. There are some good ones out there, but it is probably the best and described quiet well by BIGTEX.

I'll try to pick up some 60 minute tomorrow, they have a few different DFH's so I'll write them down and ask for advice

I've tried the 90min. A little too sweet for me. Same thing for the Midas Touch - just a tad too sweet. I prefer more bite than sweet. The Raison D'Etre is sweet, but not overboard and I like that. Just like Dewey, I really like the 60 minute IPA. Plenty of flavor but not over sweet.
Dewey - you need to try the "Burton Baton" - very similar to the 60 minute, but with an extra kick in the pants. Probably the best DFH I've had so far.
Another good beer that I've recently found is the Sierra Nevada "Torpedo" IPA. Similar to the DFH 60 minute, but with a little different flavor. I think its a fairly new release for them, but its a good beer. A nice change.
I just had a Breckenridge Brewery "small batch 471" IPA. Its aged in barrels previously used for "Wild Turkey". If you like the DFH 60, then you'll like this one too.

I'll try them! I hate..HATE the regular Sierra beer, I'll try the Torpedo if I see it though.
I have been looking for a beer that has been aged in a whiskey or Bourbon barrel. I have this wine that is aged in Jack Daniel barrels. Too sweet but has a great finish to it. I'll try to track down the Breckenridge beer, I'd really like to try that.

Only two DFH that I have tried I don't care for. One is the Indian Brown Ale. If it is the last thing in the fridge I will drink it but, not something I'd reach for first. The other is the DFH120MIPA. That stuff is like syrup, too damn heavy and too damn strong. Only way to stomach it is to drink it slowly with some really strong flavored meat!
