Phew. I'm back. I've been gone to two funerals for family members and been working pretty hard. First thread I chime in on, SO...
I think it's a fad. I've seen guys do the Dr. Pepper thing, but it's not like fly paper. Sure, it's sticky if you step on it in the kitchen, but when you're dealing with hundreds of HP in thousands of pounds, I think it's more mind over matter. I say get a good set of beaded slicks and the right setup. Save the Dr. Pepper to drink after teh winz.

You want Dr Pepper for drag radials, but for a full slick use Coke. With the Dr Pepper the surface is too tight and you have a hard time getting up on the tire if you are on a slick.
But for real, try the Dr Pepper and let us know how it goes.
